A simple black polish for today - this one is from older, now discontinued line of Maybelline Coloramas, and the color that is also available in new packaging under the same number. Dark Chocolate should be dark brown if you ask me, but this one is pure black, and a sheer, watery black to make it worse. Back then when I was buying it, I really thought I was buying something dark brown, those store lights never make it easy to see colors properly.
Here I have 2 coats, and no top coat, you can see that because of the watery formula there are some bold patches left. Of course it looks nice and shiny upon application, but tip wear showed just a few hours later, and this ended up as one of those rare polishes I take down on the same day.
I do not often wear black, but when I do I expect it to cover nicely and have at least some staying power. Feel free to pass on this one. I'll probably use mine for frankening.
I am not sure how's the quality of the new Colorama's and is there any change at all besides the bottle. From what I've read on the other blogs, seems to be pretty much the same.

ReplyDeleteBy the name I would say that it's a dark brown, but by the photos I see it's black. But it's true, that every nail polish addict needs a good black polish. :)
ReplyDeleteJa sam znala da je crn, ali sam očekivala da je jelly i da može da se koristi za jelly sendviče. Prc. Moj je, doduše, sasvim dobro pokrivao.

Videla sam danas jedan jako sličan među GR lakovima i ne uzeh ga, moram da se vratim sutra po njega, sviđa mi se jako ova nijansa :)
