Since I bought this one a few weeks ago, it's been used and loved several times already, but only today I caught good enough weather conditions to capture it's beauty on the camera. With the fall weather came the craving for a deep rich shimmery red and this China Glaze was just the right choice. I couldn't find a data from which collection this came originally but Heart of Africa is now in the core line and easy to find.
I used 2 coats and no top coat. It is a pretty opaque shade but it requires 2 coats for full, rich color you see here. The shade is a deep red, or light burgundy and to me it appears to be mostly warm toned, unlike some other burgundy shades that lean more cool. The shimmer is very dense, particles are small and brushstrokes are not visible. On the nail this gives a very festive look because the edges appear blackened and the shimmer gives it that 'lit from within' glow.
Worth mentioning is that China Glaze has a lot of shades similar to this one, and looking all of them on nail wheels compared, this particular one was my choice as it appeared to be the warmest among them.
Standard easy application and formula, the only downside is a very quick tip wear, so top coat might be a good idea.
I'm completely in love with this it might be my choice for New Year's eve. How about you?
Thanks for stopping by :)
