Yup, that's right - my new mission for this year. Last few weeks this has been on my mind. With old year ending and a new year beginning, instead of making wishlists for the upcoming year or list of favorites from the previous one (mission impossible) I decided to make it a goal for 2013 to use up 10 of my polishes.
For a while now I've had a feeling I've crossed the line of 'it feels ok' and stepped into 'too much' territory when it comes to amount of polish. There is just too many of them, and I know I simply have to stop that amount from growing anymore. So while trying to reduce my purchases to 0-2 polishes per month, I thought it would be nice to actually use some of them up. Like, for the first time ever.
I know the general idea with P10P is not to buy anything new until you used up what you set out to, but this has to be modified in my case, of course. I mostly paint my nails every 2-3 days, and the idea is to try to alternate one untried mani with one from P10P. That way I assume things won't get boring. It's a long year ahead, and by my calculations this is doable. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I won't be able to stick to it or the polish can't be used up all that easily, but I'll try it anyway.
I carefully picked out the following polishes for this project, each of them is there for specific reason - some of them I have backups of, some are meant to be replaced with similar colors of better quality so I have good incentive to use them, most are minis, that's kind of self-explanatory, and some are used up a little already. Plus they are in color categories I like to wear, it includes shades for all seasons, so I hope this shouldn't be too impossible to accomplish.

Will be posting about my progress here occasionally, and hoping that will add to some extra motivation. Have you ever done anything like this with nail polish? If you have any experience with this I'd like to hear about it.
This is so brave. I really admire you. :) I cross my fingers for you, that the project will be successful. It's a good idea, how to make your collection smaller, I also had to do something with mine, because it's too big. I'll probably give all polishes I don't wear to my friends, I think they'll be happy. :)

ReplyDeleteja sam potrošila preko 10 kad sam se na to rešila negde letos. sad više nemam ni jednog kog bih želela da stavim u tu kategoriju. a potrošila sam tako da sam imala 3 iz projekta u rotaciji i mazala u krug svaki drugi put posle nekog drugog laka.
